  • Friday evening is called “Night at the Museum” when the focus is on the ghost stories from the British and Boer camps at the time of the battle.
  • Saturday starts with a parade through the town of Dundee. A tartan kilted pipe band leads the procession, followed by the Dundee Diehards (a local group that re-enacts historical battles in period regalia), the Boers many on horseback. Vintage cars often join the parade most notably a white vintage Daimler that once belonged to Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.
  • On Saturday afternoon the key event is the re-enactment of the Battle of Talana with all the drama, color and gun shots.
  • Sunday offers guided tours of attractions and points of interest around Dundee. A more somber affair is the wreath laying ceremony at St James Church and the Dutch Reformed Church.
